Blue Skies and Wheat Fields

A couple weekends ago
(yes, a couple weekends ago.
We've been really busy),
Matt and I took a mini-vacation. It was awesome.

We camped in Yellowstone National Park, which is really close to my hometown.
I have been there quite a few times, but since Matt had never been there it was fun to show him around. We camped right next to the Yellowstone Lake which is absolutely gorgeous.

I think I understand why they call it Big Sky Country.

Here was our best attempt at getting a "jumping" shot.
We set the timer on the camera which meant that when it beeped we would jump continuously and hope that we were in the air when the flash went off.

Apparently, Matt is a much better jumper than me.

We also stopped by to see Old Faithful go off.

Checked out some geothermal hotspots. Amazing, but kinda creepy since it just shows how much control we don't have over the Earth. Then again, maybe that's a good thing.

After leaving Yellowstone, we stopped by Mesa Falls.
Just as gorgeous as I remember.

After leaving Mesa Falls, Matt and I stayed at my parents house for several days.
It was great to hang out with my little sisters and Mom for a while. Unfortunately my dad was cutting grain so we didn't get to see him that often.
However, Matt was a trooper in the midst of the girly giggling, lip gloss and gossip.

Now into the life of full-time student, full-time employee, and part-time wife.
Oh, social life, I will miss you.

  1. I like the attempt-at-jumping pic; being unco-ordinated as I am I never could get that one move right ;) Thanks for "following" me! Good luck with the juggling of your life; at least you have a wonderful husband to massage your sore muscles at the end of a long, hard day :)

  2. I always try to drag visitors out to see Mesa Falls when I am home. I just love how amazing it is there! And then of course I try to con them into feeding fish at Warm River :)
